The work of Orange County based artist Jasmin Sanchez reflects the relationship between the organic and inorganic, an exploration of those areas in which civilization begins to blur the line with the natural world. In the artists own words “I strive for a balance between opposing elements, overlapping them to form something cohesive. I’m inspired by contrasts such as those between fluidity and rigidity as well as the arbitrary and the systematic.”
For her Grand Central Art Center exhibition, the artist takes over the project space through the use of pencil, ink/pen and India ink, applying her work directly upon the walls. The space is transformed into an installation environment, addressing the architecture of the physical space, as well as the outside world as exposed by the large storefront windows.
