High School Female Singers – Audition Announcement

Grand Central Art Center in Santa Ana is holding auditions at Orange County School for the Arts – through the projects collaboration with  Maria Lazarova, Director of the  Classical Voice Conservatory at OCSA – for the leading role in a newly composed opera project by GCAC Artist-in-Residence composer Lisa Bielawa and librettist Erik Ehn. GCAC is looking for a young soprano who will participate in the recording of the pilot episode (February 2015) as well as possibly the following 11 episodes over the course of the next two to three years.

Auditions for the leading role are open to all high school female singers. The selected singers will have the opportunity to work with some of the major names in classical music today, giving her un-paralleled performance experience and national as well as international exposure.

Audition Dates: September 22nd and 23rd (Call-backs)

Audition Times: 5:30pm – 8 :30 pm

Audition Location: Orange County School for the Arts, OCSA Annex 9A, 1010 North Main Street Santa Ana, CA 92701

What to Sing: One aria or art song (English preferred) and excerpt from Vireo (to be provided before the audition).
