Hot Summer” is a painting by New Orleans, Louisiana artist Joan Cox.
Joan’s gallery known a Moxy Studios at 3811 MAGAZINE STREET (uptown between Louisiana and Napoleon) was damaged during Hurricane Katrina and she had to vacate back to her home in Maryland. www.moxystudios.com
Most recently the artist was able to return and begin to rebuild her studio and gallery space. Assunta Fox Gallery will feature a special guest artist exhibit during the month of February and March which will feature her wonderful paintings. “Hot Summer” is a large figurative piece full of personal symbolism. It depicts a woman with a strong attitude. . .a sense of her own sensuality. She is leaning on the open door of a car in a steamy, tropical setting. Joan’s figurative and market flower paintings will be on view at our 209 N Main Street Gallery in the heart of the artist’s village during Feb 4 March 5 2006.
Anne Marie de Jony The INTERNAL OCTAVES suite is a series of high energy abstract imagery. Lush thick layers of strong colors and patterns are painted with both palette knife and brush to create a unique rhythm of forms...with an urban beat.
Adrian Falcon’s textural abstract expressionistic work has graced our gallery walls since September of 2005, Adrian’s new work will be on display during this time. The attachment entitled “Fleer White” is a multidimensional representation of his style and technique.
