Artist-in-Residence Program

The Cal State Fullerton Grand Central Art Center artist-in-residence program is an ongoing project. Each year the university invites three artists from around the world to live and work at the art center for a period of one week to four months. The length of stay and specific projects the artist works on are negotiated with each artist. The artist lives and works in proximity with the twenty-seven Cal State Fullerton visual arts graduate students who also live and have studios in the art center.

We have been doing residencies at GCAC since 1999. We have hosted 32 artists so far and our current artist is a graduate of CSUF. This is the first time we have hosted one of our own. Amy Caterina is creating an installation that will be featured in the Project Room July 5- August 24, 2008. She is currently working out of the studio creating work for the installation which will be a combination of video projections, knitted environment and interactive website elements. Amy will also be presenting a series of workshops in July and August for the public to participate in. Please see information below:

Our next artists arrive from Rome in September and they are master printmakers. We will be doing a residency and installation in the project room the end of the year with them.
